Beacon Partners CPA was founded by Mark Ratafia, CPA, MBA, MS who launched the firm with 15 years of experience in taxation and accounting at some of New York’s premier accounting firms.
Mark started his professional career in the corporate tax department of KPMG Peat Marwick, a leading global professional services firm. He later joined American Express Tax & Business Services in New York City, where he was responsible for managing the tax function for a diverse clientele, including domestic and international corporations, partnerships, individuals, trusts and estates.
Prior to founding Beacon Partners CPA, Mark was a Director of Taxation at Geller & Company, a firm of 250 professionals that provides accounting and tax solutions to Bloomberg, LP as well as a host of private equity and venture-backed companies.
Mark earned his MBA in Accounting and his Masters of Science in Taxation from Fordham University Graduate Division. He is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York Society of Certified Public Accountants. A noted speaker, he has conducted seminars on a variety of tax and accounting topics, and has authored numerous technical articles.
